That's what's the most frustrating part about this. If not having children wasn't a dealbreaker for OP, why would he immediately go for the nuclear option? Guy is clearly in denial, and not being honest with his partner or himself is not helping the situation in the slightest.

He’s wrong for not being supportive about you seeing friends or family, but I would be annoyed if my partner was supposed to meet me and then forgot to text me for 2.5 hours after the fact to update me. That’s rude, but if he’s really that controlling about you seeing friends “not that often” then you need to discuss it with him.
