I am kind of concerned that I am fitting into that very negative stereotype of male friends who only continued the friendship in the hopes that it would lead to more. I am willing to put aside my feelings and just be a friend. Maybe that’s for the best but I should probably just have an open conversation about this with her at some point or I would kind of be being dishonest / a bad friend? I’ve just seen some women react extremely negatively towards men like me and I can kind of sympathize with them. It must be really annoying not knowing who you can really trust as a friend. No easy answers to this, I feel kind of scummy but I’ll be sure to be more straightforward with people in the future. Insecurity can be really toxic and hurtful to ppl even when the insecure person doesn’t mean to cause harm. Confidence and honesty is definitely best for everyone. I think I have some narcissistic tendencies which I am trying to excise. I really appreciate your advice!
