If a guy posted on Reddit, and asked, “My girlfriend hasn't been keeping up with her hygiene because she is super stressed. I want to help her without hurting her feelings(and within a budget, what should I get her?) I think everyone would say a self care kit, maybe add a candle so it's not specifically directed at one issue. I think what he did was really sweet and loving.
I'm in a very similar situation to you, and I understand how hot it is going out of your self care routine, but you're not mad about the shampoo. It's up to you to confront the other things that made you think this was intentional, or if you're resentful he can't help financially.
