I don't know if this is a problem for young men nowadays or whether my son is a special case.
it's definitely a problem for young men nowadays.
They’re not trained. They might know basic commands, but they’re very clearly not trained. Trained dogs do not jump over baby gates, they don’t shit on the floor, they don’t snatch food, they don’t bite, they don’t do any of the things your dog does.
My 4 month old puppy is better behaved. Why? Because he’s TRAINED. He doesn’t snatch food. He doesn’t poop inside at all, and pees inside about once a week. He doesn’t get into the trash. He doesn’t bite.
I also have a 5+ yr old dog I picked up off the streets. He’s better behaved than these dogs as well. And he has very minimal ‘training’. He knows how to sit on command, and come back, but that’s about it. He was already potty trained when I found him, and he has never gotten into the trash, or snatched food.
I would only say the shitting inside is possibly because they’re old if it started recently. But that doesn’t explain the food snatching, trash digging, and so on.
