When I told my bf I'm not going to go, and that I'm not going to force any decision on him, he opted for canceling game night instead (we have it at our house).
I feel like this is a bit of a cop out for dealing dealing it and setting boundaries with this person, and makes me feel like a dick. I said I cod put my feelings aside and that j don't want to ruin things for others, but he insisted he doesn't want me to have to do that. Now he changed his mind and wants to go ahead with it but I definitely don't feel like going if she's going to be there and nothing has been resolved.
The first thing you need to figure out is what you want to happen. From his POV he's probably thinking “ok she said she didn't like this so I just canceled game night, but she didn't like that so I uncancelled it, but she doesn't like that either.” I'm assuming you want him to just set some firm boundaries with this one person, but you need to be sure you actually communicate that and don't just leave him guessing about how you want him to handle this.
