Yes, this kid still needs help and isn’t getting it. OP is not making things any better by staying, or by allowing this kid to continue to be abusive without consequences – every single time it happens the kid is learning that there are no consequences for violence toward adults, that could have disastrous results for the kid moving forward.
Personally I don’t believe for a second the dad doesn’t know. But whether he does or not, why hasn’t he got the kid in therapy now?
