It's not a diagnosis to say this is a maladaptive way of dealing with conflict, that's an objective fact.
Currently their cycle is: they get into a disagreement, wife makes herself vomit (or perhaps compulsively vomits, but OP says she induces it so I'm going off that), OP comforts her, argument is sidelined instead of resolved.
If OP stops engaging with the cycle, it stops validating the vomiting as a way to deflect from conflict. His wife may not be doing this on purpose, these kinds of things can become ingrained reflexes, but it's not healthy for either of them to reinforce this cycle as normal (emotionally or physically). A good therapist can then help them do the continuing work of helping her react to conflict in an appropriate way.
What would you recommend here if not what the person above suggested?
Leave dude is clearly hiding something
I’m not sure about the issues being resolved, we have talked about it briefly. I still have more questions, we just haven’t had the time to talk about it again. We will though soon I hope. I’m just worried that it’ll hurt her, I know I should probably tell her or at the very least see if she wants to know or not.
