Words of affirmation are my love language and not necessarily my husbands. I have had to tell him I need this. He has been working on it and will send me love notes occasionally with affirmations when he didn't use to at all. It's hard for him but means so so much to me. I have put in work into his love language too. It's what you do when you're committed. I don't think it's weird for her to tell him what she needs? That sounds healthy.
