We are enforcing the two rules listed above by making all titles start with ages/genders in the following format:
[##X][##X], [## X][## X], or [##-X][##-X] where ## is the age and X is the gender (currently M, F, T, A, NB, FTM, MTF but more can be added). You can have more than two ages/genders listed, but you must have at least two at the beginning of your title. Here is an example:
It’s great to be introspective and to self reflect often to understand how things came about in your life both positive and negative – and how to continue/avoid those things.
However pushing your methodologies onto others is not very healthy nor does it really result in a positive outcome. Either she bends to your will or resists but either way it’s a lose/lose. Planting the seed of what you feel you need (which you’ve done) is enough. Let the seed grow (or wither). The rest impinges on your partners freedom to be interested in what she wants.
I’m pretty deeply introspective myself but I would never tell my partner “you need to be like this too”, because she needs to be her and you need to be you, that’s why you’re together.
You set boundaries with them, about the topics you are, or aren’t, willing to discuss.
“I’m sorry that you are going through XXX, and I want to be a supportive friend. But we have discussed this so many times before, I have given advice, I listen when you need to vent, but nothing ever changes. You ignore my advice so, from now on, I don’t want to talk about this with you.”
Then next time they try to talk to you, shut it down.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t want to talk about this with you. Until you actually make changes, I can’t take all of this on too.”
