Yeah unfortunately confronting him won't change his behaviour to you or the next person. It will distance him more from you, which honestly at this point shouldn't matter, he's already made it clear where he stands on treating you. It will possibly stop the message when he's bored and horny in a few days to a few months, but then again as you've said, the best revenge is forgetting about him ignoring that message.
You're going to come across people like this regularly with live dating. There's no point in getting yourself worked up and upset at all of them. It's just a waste of your own time and energy, that would be better for you to put towards something else that makes you happy.
I think everyone generally feels like they lose someone when they get into a relationship. You want to spend all your time with your significant other. Then the family and friends can feel abandoned. However, that being said, is the financial abuse a true characterization? (Using, abusing, pick your poison on the terminology) Because honestly, it sounds like they might be correct in that! It sounds like a toxic relationship. Great that you both have changed, but honestly, someone said to me once (and that’s all it took-and I live! by it now) it’s never good to go backwards.
The chances of you both falling back into old habits is pretty big. If she keeps pushing you to get back together, after you’ve told her no, I’d start to question WHY she’s so hell bent on getting back!
