3. Oh, yeah, it is. that set me up for an adult life of unshakeable self-confidence (and let me tell you some scary things happened along the way and…I learned I could deal). Go do the same! I really belive that today's emphasis on safety for women — even knowing how unsafe we can really be — is a way of keeping us back inside the box. Outside the box, even if it's not perfectly safe, is a great place to be.

4. Like anything else, there are always exceptions to every rule. Of course sometimes it can work. The vast majority of similar situations though do not. OP's situation also makes your argument a moot point, because she herself is uncomfortable with it. I digress.

   I'm happy it has worked for you, truly. I'm a guy and happily married. I love love and wish you and everyone else nothing but the absolute best. You have a happy, healthy relationship, a two beautiful children. Awesome.

   It can sometimes work, I agree. But advice isn't given on the basis of anomalies.
