2. True, this behavior isn’t normal at all. She doesn’t seem to react this way to his other relationships, like she would rather he spend his time with his best friend instead of with me. He’s not financially dependent on his parents at all and pretty financially literate / independent. I would like to believe he’d stand up for me against them but he hasn’t from what I’ve seen, then again, usually he ignores them when they start going off (such as when they said I was “brain washing” him). The whole dynamic is weird & I almost feel like there is something that I don’t know, but I don’t know how to ask about it without making him uncomfortable. I’d like to think he would bring these issues up to me, especially if we’re planning to be married soon..
