Even if I realize I don’t want to be in a romantic relationship with her anymore?
Yes, even then. I made the mistake of going back to friendship with someone after breaking up and no contact for a few months, and even though I knew I didn’t want to date that person it himdered my ability to move on, because I started the friendship as a crunch when I couldn’t find other friends or hobbies to feel my time and social needs. I am worried the same runs the risk of happening if you go back.
What if nothing positive comes from waiting for the next month and a half
To be honest you may not feel a huge improvement in the next month and a half, it’s naked to put a time frame on when you’ll feel healed but it’s better to give it more time than rush it. I find that I start to feel better when I build new friends or hobbies that are totally separate from my ex, it allows my mind to get more of a break from the constant thinking about it, and allows me to explore new things about myself and uncover parts of myself that I love but that weren’t a part of that old relationship (it helps solidify my confidence in the end of the relationship too).
What if not talking for a while hurts our friendship?
I don’t think this will happen, your friendship simply won’t be healthy until you’ve both had a good and long time separate to heal. Time will increase the chances of a positive friendship, not decrease it— but rushing into a friendship will hurt or ruin the chances of a healthy friendship.
