Males can have depression for sure, but post partum depression is a biological change (hormones/feeding the baby (having less vitamins or etc on your body) lake of sleep etc)… I don’t think we should confuse things… can a new dad feel pressure for his new born? Sure… but his body is working exactly the same… because he wasn’t creating/delivering a baby…
It’s a possibility but if prior to this one time everything was great as OP said and this was the first time they drove drunk, I’d still give them that one chance. I am in no way advocating it should be ignored but at least for me as long as the relationship was good up to that point I’d give them another chance.
I did reread the op original post and I disagree with what her bf said “that if she loved him she should look past it”. Rather if he loves her he should be willing to propose a change in his behavior in order to allow her to be willing to offer him another chance(such as stop drinking all together or if going to a party where he’ll be drinking not drive there).
In the end though, it is her decision and people can choose to end a relationship for any reason. I personally would choose to allow another chance if they’d be willing to take steps to ensure it won’t happen again.
and she still loves me.
lol

Break up with her. Why on earth would she offer to pay for something she has no money for
