1. My guess at her thought process: she felt torn between the thing she had committed to doing and listening to you. She wanted to listen to you and was invested in the result of the interview, and felt guilty about 'having' to do something else in the moment. She felt like you needed her, and she was letting you down. So then when you demonstrated you didn't need her by talking to someone else, she felt both rejected and angry that she was made to feel guilty 'for no reason'.

   Now, to be clear: NONE of the above is fair. She is not managing her emotions well, and she's making her knee-jerk probably unexamined emotional responses your responsibility.

   That said, her hurt is real. But she has no idea where it's coming from, and needs to talk this through in order to process this kind of thing more proactively. If she can't, the pattern will continue.
