She embarrassed herself
I found it so weird that after OP pointed out how he felt, then she said she was so embarrassed she couldn't face his friends again. Her behavior is the reason she can't face those friends, not OP pointing it out.
I have to wonder what her deal is. Because obviously stress embarrassed and knows, on some level, she embarrassed herself. Why does she just keep doing this to herself?
