I thought this was going to be a drunken one night stand or something… 5 months?!?
When you said you'd always be there for him, you lied
When you said he's all you ever wanted, you lied
When you said you'll be loyal, you lied
You lied about what you were doing
You lied about your values
Imagine it was your best friend in your boyfriend's situation; being cheated on for 5 months but being so in love and invested that they can't give up and leave. Would you hurt for them? Beg them to value themselves and have faith they'll find someone who will be loyal to them and have the future they want, give them the strength to leave?
Anyone would want that for their friend, because they love their friends
You don't love him as much as you love yourself, or you'd let him go. And if you say you'd never do it again, why not? You are showing you value your own feelings more than his, so cheating again for the same reason is not just consistent with how you acted for those 5 months, it's consistent with how you're acting right now making this post looking to tie him to you further
You don't have to be the monster everyone here is making you out to be. Free your partner, let him build a life without you, go to therapy, work on yourself, and when you get into a new relationship set a boundary with yourself that the second you cheat, you'll end it. Anything less than that and no one here can help you
Pass my apologies on to your boyfriend. It's a horrible thing to go through, truly. But tell him he'll be okay in the end
