You're not being grey rocked; gray rocking is disengagement strategy for victims to distance themselves from their abusers. Your friend is clearly grieving and lord knows what else is going on with them mentally.
Your friend experienced a catastrophic and traumatic loss; it doesn't matter how much at peace they were with what was going to happen before it happened, the aftermath and how someone will actually respond is unpredictable.
They may come to the point in the future where they are able to and want to reach out and engage with you again – are you wanting that door to be firmly slammed shut? If you no longer want to reach out and initiate, that's up to you, but going so far as deleting them from your socials seems excessive.
