Going against the grain.
I’d be pretty mad too. Someone just went rummaging through my kitchen without asking and helped themselves to my snack for work. Sure there were 2 left but that might throw off his grocery shopping.

I think you need to let him tell you what he needs, not listen to what his sister says. She might just be reiterating how he feels, or be making it up, but the only thing that matters is what HE says.
If he wants space, give him space. I think it's really very hot to judge if the ONLY thing wrong in his life is your relationship because you are long distance. You can't see what is happening with him in person. It might be a factor in whatever is going on with him, but there's a very good chance he has other stressors adding to it.
