I’m a little confused on why you say you couldn’t afford birth control pills. They’re free! I’ve been on the pill for years, lived in multiple states and used different pharmacies, and I’ve never paid a dime for my birth control pills so long as I had health insurance. If you don’t have health insurance, definitely don’t bring another life into this world until you do.
I think you need to see this as a wake up call that you and your boyfriend need to get your act together. You have 5 children between the two of you, are expecting number 6, and don’t have enough common sense to use proper birth control. Your boyfriend likely feels this way because he feels you need to focus on the kids you currently have rather than adding more. If you continue with the pregnancy, I wouldn’t expect much enthusiasm all around.
Also, if your kids are all over the age of 8, I’m guessing they are near or at the age of puberty. PLEASE make sure you are educating them about safe sex and that they have access to birth control, depending on their ages. Otherwise, in a few years or so, you might be ending up raising a grand baby alongside this one you’re expecting.
