I find it so so very hot to believe he couldn't get an appointment. Our lab is quick to accept appointments or walk-ins, with or without a doctor referring us. I get insurance is tricky (I'm on my state insurance myself lol) but my BS Meter is dinging.
Maybe it's the holidays and he really is being denied but…
If he wants to help ease your worries, he'd sit around as a walk-in. Surely his PCP can help speed things along. Ideally there's no cheating! But if I were him, I'd be busting my bum to clear my name and get answers about my own physical health. Especially if my partner was concerned about their own.
