1. The driving force for the separation is citizenship. Anywhere we have wanted to travel abroad, she has needed to go through a long and expensive process to obtain a visa. I understand why she feels it’s so important and I’m honestly OK with the separation with that in mind. It’s the separation coupled with going to art school (i.e. not making much to support herself there) that I have issue with.

2. Anyone who would think less of you for your trauma/experiences is a piece of shit. If he does, you're worth more than that. If he doesn't then there's no issue.

   You're overthinking it probably.

   As for disagreements, so long as its respectful and not like a dealbreaker. I actually find it pretty attractive when someone isn't afraid to disagree with me with their beliefs. And i find the opposite, people who always have the exact same opinion to the person who last spoke even if it directly contradict to what they were saying earlier to be pretty repugnant.
