   That said, as much as I understand your grief, you’re being a big fucking baby about this. You don’t own the name. Even if the dog was alive, there’s nothing weird about a dog and a child sharing a name. I’m so sorry you’re still feeling traumatized about her death, I definitely think you should get into therapy about it, but throwing what I can only politely describe as a hissy fit about the name is not going to make you feel any better. You need to move on and let it go. You’ll have your Rosie and the new Rosie, all with separate memories. And eventually for both of us, we’ll remember the happy memories of our pets, not just the one single awful day they died.
