I've seen a lot of reels saying how the man needs to plan everything, and the woman needs to just sit back and look pretty, and I've never been someone who agrees with this. I love planning our dates all the time and always make sure I get him flowers or some handmade gifts or something to make it special. Keep in mind, for 12 months, he has not planned A SINGLE DATE, and it's all been me. He's never got me flowers, chocolates or even a simple thoughtful gift and I've never complained about it till now.
The day before yesterday was our one-year anniversary, and the entire week he told me he'd planned something special, and I was sooo excited cuz he never takes initiative for dates and I was looking forward to it all week. He told me to meet him at 5 at an open brewery restaurant and I thought it'll be a candlelight dinner or something where we can spend time… but no. It was a live-stream football match for the finals on a huge screen with free drinks. I can't believe to tell yall how upset I was and still am. He didn't even get me flowers or a present, and I stood there like an idiot gifting him a jersey of his favorite team which cost me my entire savings and some chocolates he loves while he got me NOTHING. I asked him what the date plan was, and he said "Just watching the match together babe, doesn't that sound fun?" needless to say I walked up and left. I can't stand this anymore, he's the perfect boyfriend, the man of my dreams even and we always have a good time together but I hate being invalidated. I've told him so many times to take initiative about these things but always ends up thoughtless and stupid, like he doesn't even think of it, just plans for the heck of it.
ALSO keep in mind, for the 12 months we've dated he KNOWS I don't like football and he couldn't plan a single cute date where we could just spend time celebrating a special day.
