My friend ‘s 18F ex 18M wants to sue her/ take legal action against her after she cheated on him ?

So my friend 18 F cheated on her boyfriend 18M with a guy who lives in another province/state and her boyfriend found out. They were only dating for three months and he found out she cheated a few days ago and obviously hes very upset about it which is understandable.

However, he wants her to pay back the money he spent on her, specifically on the day that he asked her out and on valentines. On the day he asked her out, he took her to this pretty restaurant in Camps Bay and he spent about R700/$38 on dinner and he got her flowers. I helped him plan the whole thing so he was not forced by any means whatsoever to do this. And on valentines he wanted to have a picnic at some place but he came 30 minutes to the date and they ended up having to have the picnic at my friends res (university residence) kitchen. He bought her flowers, two of those long thin lindt chocolates and a cake and something else that he took home but in total it all came up to a little less than R500/$28 and she also bought him stuff. She couldnt afford to get him anything special as shes a broke university student. He is claiming that he spent thousands on her which in dollars would be like abt $100-200.

The thing is, his mom is a lawyer and they are super rich and he wants to involve her and take legal action against her but can he even do that because there was no signed agreement of any sort between them and technically hes not entitled to any money he willingly spent on her. I’m not defending her cheating or anything, because that was totally wrong but he can’t take her to court over this and i feel like he’s blowing it out proportion because what charges is he gonna have against her ?? And how can she pay back money that HE willingly spent on her, no one asked him to.
