1. You can break up with someone for any reason or none at all. You don’t have to be in some kind of abusive relationship to identify that it’s not a good fit.

   That said, a boundary is something you set for yourself. If this really is a dealbreaker then this is pretty straightforward-break up.

   But he’s 22. I’d say it’s pretty normal for young adults to experiment with drugs and alcohol at that age. And objectively, smoking a cigar is more dangerous than hitting a vape. He agreed to your rule (not a boundary but a rule) that he’d not smoke. So…you can reevaluate and move on or stay.

   Generally though, I’m not a fan of the rule thing—especially if it’s not negotiable down the line as you grow and change.

   I personally think you’re being over the top with this but you get to feel how you feel and take whatever action you deem necessary.
