I don't get it. I will never get it. I see it a lot, too: seems a dude can say anything to a woman (sometimes the opposite, too, but rarely), like any vile offensive abusive shit. And then add “It's a joke” and now… it's okay! 😀

Hell, I have seen posts with actual physical abuse, then after it happens the dude says “IT WAS A JOKE” and the woman is like welp… I guess it was a joke. Our sense of humor is misaligned, I still have bruises tho.
