1. This boy (not man, because he is behaving really immaturely) is creating a relationship with THREE people. He needs to stop badgering your friend about you, your friend needs to set some boundaries.

   I think you are right that this boy just brings all the drama, and is absolutely not worth the fuss. He had a chance – he had TWO chances – and he blew it, all on his own.

   The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour – you KNOW this relationship is dead in the water before it begins.

   I think you need to tell your friend that if she wants to retain your friendship, any discussion of the ex is off the table. Warn her that you won't stand for it, and if she brings him up, say “It's been nice seeing you, catch you next time” and leave. Stick to your guns.

   Your peace of mind – and respect for yourself – is worth more than this relationship.
