Regarding your second paragraph: I didn't know that! I also thought c-sections in the US were medical emergencies only. You learn something new every day.
I was about to disagree with your last point; some pain is necessary (I'd argue mental more than physical for this) to grow, but was going to ask why it's important that women feel pain (what benefit there is) during insertion or removal of an IUD. But your last point is solid; root cause analysis and correction at the source vs more medical risk. Thanks for taking the time to explain your POV
