My wife doesn't forbid but she sulks, moans and generally makes the whole experience uncomfortable. Days after going out there will be comments like. “You can do everything today, I'm doing nothing, you seem fine going out enjoying yourself without me blah blah”. Insecurity and a fear of being left alone manifesting as controlling behaviour. It works though, I don't have friends and I don't go out haha. You can be me in 40 years or get a more tolerant gf.
In that phase it gets jumbled up with everything. I was hugging and cuddling all the time and she likes that and we were in that honeymoon phase for maybe three years, I noticed that I had to initiate sex but she was fine with me taking that responsibility and me too I guess. 12 years later and I noticed that I need her to come to me sometimes, that would make me feel loved. If I don’t do it then we could die of old age without ever touching each other or maybe a hug if I build a fence or something.
Sorry you’re going through this. You appear to be a very literal guy by hanging on each word she has told you. But you’re missing the bigger picture: she’s done with this relationship and is moving on. It ain’t about her mom, dad, Jesus. It’s about her. No amount of reasoning, discussion, prayer is going to turn the ship around. So time to be an adult and accept her decision with dignity. Block her, invest in yourself, and move on. Don’t get swallowed up by the details; the headline is all that matters.
