I rarely enjoy getting gifts. It seems like a waste of money. I am willing to give a list of practical items I want on Amazon or a specific list of items. I prefer to save money for retirement and prefer to spend less to avoid debt. So unless a gift is something practical that frees up money in the tight budget, it seems like a waste of money.
Please give him cash plus a small, inexpensive gift. It sounds like getting gifts or thinking about gifts gives him anxiety. Like me. I try to be polite but it is so uncomfortable to receive gifts from anybody.
