2. You seem to be trying very hard to fix something that, at least from this side, seems to be broken outside of your control. She may be projecting, or she may have been hurt by cheating in the past so much that she is mildly unreasonable. Any way you look at it though, this relationship seems to be taking up a lot of your efforts and not even be stable as a thing of its own. And ideally, yes you should be giving time and effort to your relationship and not just ignoring it. But it should also be a mostly stable thing in itself. You should feel like if you had to concentrate on work for a bit and not pay quite so much attention, that it wouldn't just implode from that bit. It might just be time to let this one go.
