Well, that’s my point. If you worded it the way you worded it in this post, then you did word it well. The fact that she perceives it as you pushing her away is because of HER issues with emotional regulation, and you are taking on the burden of regulating her emotions for her. That’s not your responsibility. I do think you should have a talk with her, but I think it should be a serious discussion about her emotions, particularly the jealousy. Now would be a really good time to explore where those stem from with nonjudgmental questions, and work out solutions that don’t involve you walking on eggshells.
