Yeah I can respect that conclusion. It was a boneheaded allegory. I honestly was trying to say that I am not trying to diminish her right to say No to intimacy, I enthusiastically encourage her to have the power and control of NO in that situation. This is morally and ethically good. We should never force each other into situations that make us uncomfortable. Her wanting to spend more money on another luxury after we discussed saving money felt like an easy No, especially considering the horrible timing with my son in a meltdown and everybody being overstimulated. Even talking about it felt uncomfortable and possibly coercive on her part.
