Right now the tv is in our bedroom. She watches tv on her phone or computer. I watch sports and my kids and I sometimes play video games.
I want to move the tv down to the living room since it’s taking up space in our bedroom. My wife is opposed to having a tv in our living room as she thinks it becomes a focal point. I told her I want to move it so when we do movie night every weekend I am not dragging the tv downstairs. Plus she goes to bed early and I want to be able to wind down with tv at night.
We barely use our living room – our kids are old enough where they spend most of their time in their rooms. I think if we had the tv downstairs they may spend more time out of their rooms and we would see them more.
I understood reducing screen time when the kids were little, but it doesn’t make sense anymore. We don’t have cable – I just watch broadcast tv and we rent movies through streaming.
Before kids we had a tv in the living room. I don’t see what the big deal is. She’s not budging.
