My maternal grandmother is a narcissist. She has had a habit of making things difficult for me through my mother due to her selfish and jealous tendencies. I remember her as a fun grandma when I was young, but growing up really changes your perspective on who someone is. We have a fine relationship, much like a 2nd or 3rd cousin I see 1-3 times a year. I’m certainly not going out of my way to please her. In my opinion, you have three options: ignore her (may or may not cut contact), respond and stay cordial/polite/fake (based on your feelings), or respond with the truth about she made you feel. Then if there’s a response, that makes a whole new decision tree.
i don’t think there’s talking to him about this. you have already talked to him about it and it’s only escalated. he thinks he can do better than you, let him think that and remove yourself from the situation. he’ll be back. just keep denying access 🙂
